Russia's army chief Valery Gerasimov visited Moscow's troops on the Ukraine front, the defence ministry said Thursday, vowing to take more east Ukrainian towns and villages.
Moscow released a video of Gerasimov meeting troops, saying the Kremlin's forces were advancing towards the east Ukrainian hub of Sloviansk and praising their "successes."
