حذرت منظمة الأمم المتحدة للطفولة (يونيسف) الثلاثاء من أن مليون طفل يعانون من سوء التغذية الحاد في أفغانستان مهددون الموت إذا لم تُتخذ أي إجراءات لمساعدتهم.
وقال تاج الدين أيوالي، ممثل اليونيسف في أفغانستان، للصحافيين في جنيف متحدثا من كابول، "يعاني 3,7 ملايين طفل من الهزال، أي أنهم في حالة سوء تغذية حاد، من بينهم مليون طفل يعانون من سوء تغذية حاد شديد، مما يعرض حياتهم للخطر".
