أسفرت غارة جوية للجيش البورمي على دير كان يستضيف مدنيين لممارسة التأمل عن مقتل 14 شخصا، وفق ما أفاد شاهدان قصدا المكان بعد الهجوم وكالة فرانس برس.
وقال نواي أو ميونغ، وهو متمرد مؤيد للديموقراطية ساعد في انتشال الجثث، إن الهجوم وقع قرابة الساعة التاسعة صباح الجمعة قرب بلدة ميونغ في وسط البلاد، وأسفر عن مقتل 11 رجلا وثلاث نساء، فيما أورد مقاتل محلي آخر طلب عدم كشف هويته لأسباب أمنية أن "خمسة من القتلى ينتمون إلى قريتنا، والتسعة الآخرون من قرى مجاورة".
