ضرب زلزال قوي بلغت شدته 6,7 درجات جنوب البيرو الخميس، وفق ما أفادت هيئة المسح الجيولوجي الأميركية، من دون ورود تقارير فورية عن إصابات أو أضرار.
وحُدد مركز الزلزال على بعد حوالى 40 كيلومترا شمال غرب أوباهواتشو، على مسافة تقارب 800 كيلومتر من العاصمة ليما، ووقع على عمق 66 كيلومترا. في المقابل، قدّر المعهد الجيوفيزيائي في البيرو قوة الزلزال بـ7,2 درجات.
