أعرب الفاتيكان الخميس عن قلقه حيال "صعوبات" تواجه تطبيق اتفاق الإطار بين إسرائيل ولبنان والذي تمّ التوصل إليه في حزيران/يونيو بوساطة الولايات المتحدة، وذلك خلال استقبال البابا لاوون الرابع عشر الرئيس اللبناني جوزاف عون.
وقال الفاتيكان في بيان "أعرب الكرسي الرسولي، الذي رحّب بتوقيع هذه الوثيقة، عن قلقه العميق إزاء الصعوبات التي تواجه تطبيقها، وأكد دعمه للجهود المبذولة في هذا الاتجاه".
