دان المتحدث باسم وزارة الخارجية الإيرانية إسماعيل بقائي الإثنين، الهجوم بمسيّرتَين على مكتب رئيس حكومة إقليم كردستان ومقرّ إقامة مدير الاستخبارات في أربيل خلال الليل، بحسب ما أفادت وكالة الأنباء الرسمية إرنا.
ووفق بيان نقلته الوكالة، فقد دان بقائي الهجوم واصفا إياه بأنّه "تطور مشبوه بشدّة يتطلّب الاهتمام الدقيق".
