Der 71. Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) findet im kommenden Jahr in der bulgarischen Küstenstadt Burgas statt: Das Finale des Musikwettbewerbs wird am 15. Mai 2027 in der Arena Burgas, Bulgariens neuester Sport- und Veranstaltungshalle, ausgerichtet, wie die Europäische Rundfunkunion (EBU) und der bulgarische Fernsehsender BNT am Donnerstag mitteilten. Die Halbfinals finden demnach am 11. und 13. Mai in der Stadt an der bulgarischen Schwarzmeerküste statt.
Der ESC wird traditionsgemäß immer vom Siegerland des Vorjahres ausgerichtet. In diesem Jahr hatte die bulgarische Sängerin Dara das Finale in Wien mit dem Song "Bangaranga" gewonnen. Die Bulgarin holte damit den ersten Erfolg für ihr Heimatland in der ESC-Geschichte.
