Mick Schumacher hat die nächste Top-Ten-Platzierung in der IndyCar Series klar verpasst. Der frühere Formel-1-Pilot, der zuletzt in Nashville/Tennessee mit Rang acht sein mit Abstand bestes Ergebnis eingefahren hatte, kam bei der 13. Station in Portland/Oregon nur auf den 16. Platz.
Schumacher arbeitete sich im Honda des Teams Letterman Lanigan Racing (RLL) immerhin von Startplatz 22 etwas vor. In der Gesamtwertung belegt der 27-Jährige weiterhin Rang 24. Den Sieg in Portland sicherte sich der spanische Titelverteidiger und souveräne Spitzenreiter Alex Palou (Chip Ganassi Racing) vor dem Schweden Felix Rosenqvist (Meyer Shank Racing).
Weiter geht es am kommenden Sonntag in Markham/Kanada mit der 14. von 18. Stationen. Das Saisonfinale steigt am 6. September in Monterey/Kalifornien.
