Stammspieler Sergio Lopez verlässt den Fußball-Zweitligisten Darmstadt 98 und wechselt nach SID-Informationen in seine zweite Heimat zum spanischen Zweitligisten FC Granada. Der 27-Jährige erhält bei den Andalusiern einen Vertrag bis 2028. Der in Remscheid geborene Rechtsverteidiger war in seiner Jugend auch bei Real Madrid ausgebildet worden, 2024 war er vom FC Basel nach Darmstadt gewechselt.
Darmstadt hatte zuletzt in Christopher Lannert von Ligakonkurrent Arminia Bielefeld bereits einen neuen Rechtsverteidiger geholt.
