أعلنت إيطاليا الاثنين أن روسيا طردت "من دون مبرّر" ملحقا عسكريا في بعثتها وأحد "المتعاونين" معه، بعد عشرة أيام من قيام روما بطرد اثنين من عناصر أجهزة الاستخبارات الروسية العاملين على أراضيها تحت ستار دبلوماسي.
وكتب وزير الخارجية الإيطالي أنتونيو تاياني على منصة إكس "إنه عمل انتقامي صارخ عقب طرد إيطاليا لملحقين عسكريين روسيين اثنين، ضُبطا متلبسين بممارسة أنشطة تجسس تضر بأمننا الوطني".
