حطت الطائرة التي تقل المنتخب الإسباني، العائد من الولايات المتحدة حيث توج بلقب كأس العالم لكرة القدم في نيوجيرزي، الإثنين عند الساعة 14:30 بالتوقيت المحلي (12:30 بتوقيت غرينتيش) في مطار مدريد-باراخاس، وذلك غداة فوزه على الأرجنتين (1-0) في النهائي.
وحطّت طائرة شركة "إيبيريا" التي كانت تقل المنتخب الإسباني، على أرض المطار تحت سماء زرقاء صافية، وفق ما أفاد صحافي في وكالة فرانس برس كان متواجدا في المكان.
