Le gouvernement britannique a annoncé jeudi la nationalisation du sidérurgiste British Steel, auparavant propriété du groupe chinois Jingye, dont le gouvernement avait déjà pris le contrôle au printemps 2025 pour éviter la fermeture de deux hauts fourneaux.
"La décision prise aujourd'hui garantit l'avenir de la sidérurgie au Royaume-Uni, protège des emplois qualifiés et préserve une capacité nationale vitale", a déclaré le Premier ministre Keir Starmer, cité dans un communiqué.
