Für Mladenovic, einst die Nummer eins der Welt im Doppel, war es der erste Erfolg im All England Club. Zuvor gewann sie auf Major-Ebene viermal ihr Heim-Turnier Roland Garros und zweimal die Australian Open. In Wimbledon stand sie zum zweiten Mal nach 2014 im Endspiel.
