Dans les Pyrénées-Orientales, l'incendie à Sainte-Marie-la-Mer et Canet-en-Roussillon, qui a entraîné l'évacuation d'un peu plus de 3.000 personnes jeudi, est sous contrôle, non sans avoir consumé (à des degrés divers) trois campings et un total de 281 bungalows. "Nous avons tenu enemble", s'est félicité le préfet des Pyrénées-Orientales, Pierre Regnault de la Mothe, soulignant que "ce n'est pas forcément la fin de l'histoire" et appelant à la plus grande vigilance.
