ARTE Journal picks AFP for its TV production in Germany

From the end of July, Agence France-Presse, through its German subsidiaries, will host ARTE Journal's editorial office in Berlin.

AFP will provide the Franco-German broadcaster’s correspondents office with technical and logistical resources to help in their production work. This includes dedicated teams for filming, editing, transmission, storage and technical infrastructure.

The contract, signed following a competitive tendering procedure, is for a maximum period of eight years.

"This is further recognition for AFP's world-wide audiovisual production, which is now used regularly by a growing number of television stations and internet portals," said the international news agency's chief executive officer Fabrice Fries.

"We are delighted by this contract with ARTE, a broadcaster that is renowned for its high standards of quality in filming and editing."

This contract is part of an ongoing development in services provided by AFP to broadcasters and to non-media sectors (audiovisual production on-demand). In Germany, AFP is active in the media services sector through two dedicated subsidiaries.
