Four AFP photographers awarded by the White House News Photographer Association
During the annual ceremony of the White House News Photographer Association, the WHNPA jury awarded prizes to Jim Watson, Olivier Douliery, Saul Loeb and Brendan Smialowski.
The 2017 Eyes of History Awards Gala was held June 10, 2017 at the Ritz Carlton in Washington, organized by the White House News Photographer Association which also celebrated her 96th birthday.
Following the ceremony, four AFP photojournalists based in Washington have been rewarded:
Jim Watson
First place in the Pictorial category
Award of Excellence in the Campaign 2016, On Capitol Hill, Picture Story/News and Presidential Portfolio categories.
Brendan Smialowski
1rst place in the Picture Story/Politics category
3rd place in the Political Portfolio category
Award of Excellence in the Inauguration 2017, Picture Story/Feature and Portfolio categories.
Olivier Douliery
3rd place in the Pictorial category
